And the fact that when you find the part through the menu the part number is not listed, just a description.
I'm looking at the drop down too. Is there a way to get the part number from the site? I'd just like to research a bit more to know what exactly comes with part #2) lock switch overdrive lockout. The wires are what's needed. Do I need part #1 or #2?
#2 looks to be the actual Overdrive push button and associated wires, and #3 is just the cap (the part number I was posting on here). #1 is the actual shifter bar (metal).
Most people just need the cap, as the button is still working fine...the caps just tend to break/fall off and need to be replaced.
If you need both the cap and the button...that Dorman part incorporates both. But, as I mentioned previously, I read a lot of negative reviews about how it is not "locked" into place, but rather simply held in by friction. Therefore, it tends to pop out, apparently. But it's a cheap alternative, and you can get it today at the auto parts store.
actually need just the wires. Helping a friend that had to splice his together and leave the switch loose.
I have not pulled mine apart to see how the wire hooks to the button but if the wire can only be purchased as the full assembly (part #1) then I guess that's the only way to go.
