When i bought my 98 Eddie Bauer it was missing the "cap" that sits on the end of the column shifter and the OD button sticks out of. Everything operates just fine without it, but it exposes some sharp edges, that kind of grab at me every now and then. I've lived with it because this truck is just my beach buggy, and not my daily driver, but would really like to take care of it one of these days, as I am assuming it's a cheap part that will just pop on if i ever get around to looking for one, since the OD switch itself seems to be a pretty cheap part when i looked for the cap in the LMC catalog.
With the fall fishing season getting ready to start, i'd really like to fix this minor annoyance. Is this something that i should be able to find cheap and easily? If not, is it something I can just pop off a junk yard truck and put onto my shifter? Is this cap included when you buy a new OD switch?
thanks Allro, i'll have to check it out. Hopefully the shipping isn't more than the part itself. I know with the price of gas it's still probably cheaper than driving around looking for it, but I have a mental hurdle when it comes to spending $7 in shipping for a $6 item

Stop at a local salvage yard while you are out and get it for about a buck. Mine was in the console when I bought my truck and as the tab was broken I just used a dab of super glue in a couple of spots, almost 2 years now and no problem with it.
Oh wHell, I've been found out. At least it was the original button and if my truck is ever in a Concors(?) show it might count for something. Is your button original?
