Not only do we have Napa but many other auto parts stores, PLUS many wrecking yards in the area. The guy got to be either a kid or just plain ole stoopid.
Would you happen to know the price for nuts? I bought couple as replacement and they cost few bucks each.
Needing 32 or 40 of them makes pretty good amount. No wonder someone is seeking better deal.

Would seem kinda odd to lose all your lug nuts, But even at $3.00 a piece that's only $120.00.

$120 is high for some lug nuts. They should be priced at $3/each OR a FULL SET for something like $50 at the most. That would be reasonable. Car makers need to offer full sets of parts (like clips, screws, bolts, etc. for a certain area) cheaper than individual rates.
I hear you. Firestone tried to keep 16 of mine this weekend when I had an alignment done (they had to swap my wheels/tires). I immediately thought about how much they cost and turned right around and headed back.
It's fairly common to need a set of lugs when changing wheel sets. Of course, you need to know if you have the 1.5 or the 2.0 pitch, which is also why wheels often come with wrong size.
