What is involved in coverting a 2bbl 351w over to a 4bbl carb? Obvious parts to me are a new manifold and carb (of course), but how complicated is this project if I decide to get into it?
Venhicle in question is a '76 Ford Van. I do a lot of heavy hauling with it and it's always a power struggle under full loads. Thinking that maybe a 4bbl would add some more muscle to it.
The Chilton Van manual doesn't list ANY years with a 4bbl as an option on a 351W. Is the manifold going to be an easy find at a wrecking yard?
I have a 4 bbl on my 351w powered truck. Lots of power and an easy swap. U need the intake, carb, and, depending on year, an EGR Spacer (if u want 2 stay smog-legal)
I used a factory 4 bbl manifold off an early 80's van, so yes, they had 4 bbl Windsors in vans. In fact, I was given an aftermarket intake so I will be getting rid of the factory manifold and EGR spacer, if you're interested, let me know.
