so we're currently working on my rear and finally changing my ratios, but we've run into an issue... without the crush sleeve on the pinion it goes in fine and the specs seem to be pretty good, but with the crush sleeve, it seems like its just not crushing... anyone had any problems like this?

What are you using to tighten it? Does it seem like the pinion is too far into the ring gear with the crush sleeve in?
sorry for the late reply, been busy all day with other stuff... we were trying to tighten it using the nut on the end of the pinion... it seems as though the pinion is way too far into the ring gear with the crush sleeve one, without it it seems to fit perfectly

Sorry what I meant was are your using a ratchet to tighten? An impact? They usually require a fair amount of torque to crush so it could be you are not putting enough torque to the nut or its the wrong sleeve.
Keep trying. You'll need a good breaker bar and probably a 2 foot cheater bar on the end of that to get the crush sleeve to collapse. As you're tightening, check the pinion frequently to make sure it's still spins freely. You should notice when the crush sleeve finally starts to collapse. At that point, tighten very slowly (1/4 turns) constantly checking the pinion preload to get it right.
Thanks guys, we were using an impact but didn't wanna hammer on it for too long, ill try again next time i get a chance
Yeah, I wouldn't use an impact wrench. It's too easy to get too much preload on the bearings and you can't just back off the nut; you have to get a new crush sleeve. Here's a good website for torque specs... http://www.drivetrain.com/parts_cata...ion_gears.html
btw guys, we tried a different impact and it worked perfectly, all the specs are right on and i've been driving it for 250 miles so far, unfortunately they recommend not getting on the gas until 500 miles in..... feels like forever haha
