Good evening everyone, I'm gonna start off by saying I'm a diehard diesel guy, gasoline engines aren't my forte. I bought my truck a year ago with 15k on it. Overall I'm happy with it.but my mpgs aren't as good as I would have thought. I only Avg 14-15 regardless of highway (I drive 75). No work done to truck. The only thing I have done (dunno if it's good or bad) I took out the silencer ring or whatever you call them in the intake (pre turbo) is this normal mileage or should I get it checked out? If you need any more info please ask.
Thanks
Your mileage seems a little lower than my 2012 EB. Around 75 I would think you would be in the 15 to 16 range. On my last long trip (about 1,200 miles) I was almost at 17 MPGs, however I spent most of my time driving under 75. I found the truck is sensitive to speed and if I backed off a couple mph, I would see my mileage go up. My goal was to make the trip with only 1 stop for gas.
Think I have close to the same truck, Crew/LB/3.73. Just under 60K miles.
I've done really well (18-20) with gas mileage in the 55-60mph range on the highway, if you're patient enough to run that way.
Once I start pushing it over 70, it seems it really drops off.
My current avg MPG (on what I think is still winter fuel) is just shy of 16 with most of it Highway miles, 70-75 when traffic permits.
