Good morning everybody. It's off to church in a little bit. Then it's time to open the pool up. Then change the oil in the wifes car, and perhaps have time to catch up with a few friends later this afternoon.
Had a bit of a scare yesterday with my way too much independent soon to be two year old. I think he got too much sun while we went to campus for me to turn a paper in and then we swam for an hour. When he woke from his nap he was burning up and jittery. I was a lil concerned he might have gotten too much sun ie heat stroke or heat exhaustion. A couple of calls to the dr, a dose of motrin and a cool bath seems to have helped tremendously.
Going through nursing classes my concern meter was pegged when I saw the jitters and pupil dilation...
Seems all better now.
I know all about both, the independent children, and the concern when something ain't right with them. Kids are pretty durable, as you're probably finding out. Just like adults, keep plenty of fluids in them on these hot days. What you might have to do is keep an eye on him, especially if there's stuff going on. They will neglect to eat or drink when they should. When kids get excited and are enjoying themselves playing, they will not stop and eat or get a drink when they should. In this heat, try to emphasize water over fruit juice, or cut the fruit juice with water. Even the natural fruit juices have a lot of sugar in them. Glad he's OK!
