Evening folks. Well, I got a phone call around noon yesterday to go to Grayson, and to take an overnite bag because I had another job waiting for me in Appalachia, VA! You can go to mapquest if you're interested to see where it is. While driving through Pikeville last night around 9:30, I saw a coal bucket sitting in a gas station missing it's left rear wheels! So I stopped to see if they wanted me to fix it. After calling them, (they went home for the night) they said sure, so I worked on it till about 1:00am. Then went to Norton, VA to a hotel my brother called ahead for me, and I crashed around 3:30. Got up at 8:00, went to my job, then drove home. Funny thing I saw about fuel prices. Diesel was 3.85 or so almost everywhere. In Maysville, it's 3.56 now! And gas? Well, it is pretty close to the 3.50 mark, give or take. But in Grayson, 3.22!!! I filled up in Maysville tonight coming home. Headed to Lexington in the morning.
Not sure if this is true but I have heard to get gasoline they have to have diesel first...... so gas should be more expensive than diesel all the time.
I agree Wes, they have been F'ing us for years. I can understand a business wanting to make money and turn a profit. But seriously if you post a P&L showing 10billion in profits you seriously cannot turn around and say you are hurting and that is why the gas costs so much. Dang-git! They could charge $2.00 a gallon and still turn a profit.
Then you have companies like SuperAmerica... I use their product but Dang do they have to raise the price up the nanosecond price of oil goes up. You know darn good and well they wait a day or two to drop prices if the cost of a barrel goes down. Their praying it will go back up so they can raise the price again.
Okay got to get my B.P.under control and get off my soapbox now. That is just a very sore point to me and mine. We are trying to make it as a one income family right now while I am back in school. We have to run two vehicles and fuel is our biggest expenditure next to our rent. I can get free bus riding for being a student and my wife can be reimbursed for bus passes to her work, But the bus for either of us is not feasible as it takes four hours a day for each of us due to connections. So we are hoping the new terminal they have talked about building close to us will give us an express that can be a quick way to her work and my school.
Great now I'm p.o. better go to my M-i-l and tear some carpet up. lol
yes it is easy to do, Wes. well I think I sweated about 5 gallons working downstairs. At least that job is done. Don't mind helping out as it helps offset babysitting.
i agree they are F****King us with out lube (and ive tried doing that to someone once and it hurts like a B1TCH!!!! but I agree with the diesel being lower it should be because of less handleing....partly why i want a diesel so i can throw veggie oil in the tanks and go, hell diesels were originally designed to run off peanut oils...so in theory i could just fill my tanks with alchohol and bingo fuel hey if its combustible it should burn
