What do I do now?
Ok, great day to change the oil.
But, my hood release doesn't release anything!! Something is broken or disconnected...
How the heck can I open my hood when the hood release lever is busted???

if you can get a big screwdriver..or pry bar on the stub of the release leaver you should be able to get it to pop..just looked at mine you might have to get someone to help by pushing down on the hood to take some pressure of the release and pull hen it pops to the safety ...the simple jobs are the hardest to do...good luck

As simple as these latches are, there isn't much that could go wrong except the handle breaking off 
I would think the dowel on the hood is binding against the hole in the latch, try pushing the hood forward or back while releasing it.

Ta Daa!!!
Pushed down (had a kid sit on the hood) and pryed it with a screwdriver. It looks like everything is fine except for the scratches I made. WD-40 and it is working...at least for now. No idea what that was all about.
Time for a ride :-)
