I'm with everybody else on the cool part, let's hear/see more on that V8 emblem, that thing is bitchin. I just happen to be looking for something in that genre for the inserts in my seats
Thanks man, the V8 emblem is an "off the shelf" item at your local walmart in the automotive aisle. I have lost the package I think? I'll look for it again, but I think I threw the package away that had the part number on it. But its over where they have stuff like stickers of 4x4's and American Flags and things like that. If I remember right in our walmart there was some junky looking compass's and that kind of junk around it too. It was like $4.00 for the emblem but its made out of plastic I dont know about using it for a piece in a seat back? It might break if you leaned back too hard or something? In my application it worked fine cause it has no traffic on it and will hold up just fine.
Thanks guys, the one that Bobby posted looks a lot like the one on the tailgate of some Explorers There is company here in town (CCM) that makes a neat little emblem out of billet $25 each, thanks, but I'm still shopping
Moe, it's an Old Air system that I bought off Ebay about 4 yrs. ago, the guy bought it but didn't use it so I got a really good deal on it.We had to change( I should say Terry) had to change some things because I didn't use the compressor that came with the unit, It went together fairly well I thought, broke a switch so I'm waiting for it from Old Air before I charge the system but I think I'm going to be really pleased, Garry
Ok, I got some numbers on the V8 emblem for you guys who wanted to know what it is. Its a walmart number. One number is IP 432WK and then there's another number that is 757558 37275
That's thier numbers if that does anybody any good? The emblems would be very suitable for dash trim or door panel trim or something like that. I'd be a little hesitant on using them in a seat backrest like I said earlier, cause they are plastic and the "V" spans out there quite a bit and is kind of britle at the points if not well supported.
I've seen the similar emblem on the Exploders but I'd bet they were plastic. I don't know how much these metal ones cost but I doubt they were $25 a throw. My dad is nuts but he's not that nuts, he wouldn't have forked over that kind of money for these.
You could always do like Tardster did and make your own, rumor has it that you're a pretty fabricator....lol
Dang, I was at Walmart this morning and I forgot to look for the emblems. I knew there was something I was forgetting when I was there.
Bobby, I hate to burst your bubble, but I am a pretty good fabricator, not a pretty fabricator. Check out my "chassis pics" gallery for the whole truck put together, it's ready to paint. I am beginning to think I'm pathetic, today I am finishing block sanding the bottom of my hood.
Thanks man, if I can get a few "Bugs" worked out, I'll be happy with it. I've still got to get my column cover done but most of my truck is back together. Even with the column shroud off and some dirt on it, I still managed to win Best Antique Ford today at a local car show See yall in June
