I spent last saturday out at the local dragstrip. They combined a hot rod day with the Real Outlaw Door Slammers. Man! those 7 second cars are something to watch! Its hard to try and video tape them because you can't hold the camera and plug your ears at the same time.

I made 10 passes with my 49 over the course of the afternoon. I did allright I guess, a bit slower than my last trip to the drags but I didn't break anything. Overall I was about .5 seconds slower than last time. My best time was 15.6. Here's a couple of clips. In this first one I'm racing my brothers El Camino (I beat him easily);

In this clip I get spanked by a Chevy (in my defense he was on the bottle)

There were some neat cars and trucks there. There was a really cool 51 F1. I missed the only pass the guy made but he said it was low 13's. The truck has a big block Ford in it;

Here's a little bit of flathead ****;

This guy was having a ball. He made several passes running about 26 seconds. Not too bad for a 4cyl

Here's a shot of my brother and I in the pits before we started racing for the day;

I wish I would have had time to take more pics, there were some great cars there. All in all we had a great time, we got to race a bunch and we didn't break anything.

That your trailer in the last pic?! I never knew! LOL

You weren't so far off that Chevy's tail, considering he was on NOx!

Shoot, I could live in that trailer. It actually belongs to a friend of mine who wasn't there that day....it made for a nice spot to stash out ice chests and tool boxes though.

Here's a link with a bunch of thumbnails;

Sounds like you had fun and not breaking anything makes it even better... was it on the tree you were slower? have you started you data book yet? Day, temp, tire pressure, amount of gas in tank, how you did on the tree, speed and your pass time... Helps you look back and see what is different between the days.

Great idea Moe!

I've saved the time slips but I havent done anything with them. I guess I need to get organized and start taking notes after each run, I can see how that would be a big help.

Thanks
Bobby
