Okay folks, Terry got his cluster all finished up and installed. Here's a couple of pics of the final product with the turn signal indicators and the V8 emblem installed.
All I can say is WOW!!!! This looks awesome!
Thanks Bobby! Thanks for posting the pics too! Now all I got to do is get the column cover back in and the seat back together and she's ready for the GSM show Til I take her apart for the next crazy stage which is the 4.6 mod motor
Terry that's sweeet! I didn't realize it was a V-8 until I saw the finished product. I really love how you incorporated the high/low beams & signals into the V-8. Great skills and thinking.
Thanks guys, but the V8 emblem was kind of an afterthought and my little brother came up with the idea of the turn signals and the high beam and parking brake indicators coming through it. He also is a CNC machinist and programmed up the dash insert for me. I came up with the basic idea from a '56 Ford car. He didn want to do it cause it meant having to cut my dash but when it was all done he liked how it looks. He cut me some extra ones and I'm goin to have him help me do an "engine turned" face on one of them and change it out later. So it will look like a '57 T-Bird. Its kind of nice to have a mill and lathe in your shop to use at any time.
Great looking... I sish I could do that kind of work.... I have tons of drawing (AutoCAD) for parts I want but don't have the use of a mill or lathe to use (haven't used a lathe in 20 years)... so I know how everyone else feels... close enough to want it but not able to produce it...
Terry does some awesome work and I knew that but this past weekend I found out just how creative he is as Linda and I went down and spent a few days with Terry and Marcy and we or should I say HE installed the Heat/Defroster/Air in Homade. Thanks again Terry. This is just how good friends meet, Terry and I met right here on FTE, what do you guys think of that, Garry
You're welcome Garry!! We enjoyed every minute of it. I just wished we had more time and that we lived closer together. Thats what I wish about alot of the FTE crowd. I've met some great guys over the years foolin with these old Ford trucks. Most of them are the greatest guys on the planet and would give you the shirt off their back. They'll take the time to help you and tell you how they did something and how not to do something to avoid what they did that was wrong. That's why I love the FTE. We're all like one big disFUNctional family See yall in June the ones that can come and for the ones that cant make it some of the others will post pics
