Hey Lance, just wondering for the record, are you planing on spending the night at Truckfest or returning home on Saturday. Rob has reserved some rooms and just wanted to let him know before they are all gone. We will do whatever you guys want to do, we are pretty much open so it's up to you and Kim. Hope things are well with you and the kids. Linda and I came in tonight and she said what is on the garage floor, soo much stuff piled up around Homade that I can't tell but is either trans fluid or power steering fluid but there is alot of it so it doesn't look good, Garry

I apologize for the delay as I rarely check the visitor messages. If you need to get a hold of me, please send me an email message ([email protected]) as I will respond much quicker.

I am using Canton's 16-870 oil pan and it does hang below the front suspension cross brace (about 1"). When I was building my truck, Canton didn't have the 16-870 pan so we worked with them to come up with that design. I wish the back of the pan didn't hang so low, but Canton wanted it to ensure it was a 7 quart pan.

My truck sits pretty low and I have only scraped the pan a couple times (I live on terrible country roads). In my opinoin, the biggest challenge with the double sump pan is that it is a bear to take the engine out. With the tight firewall and tight clearance around the cross member, it makes it very tight!!

If you have any other questions, just let me know.

    Hi Lance ,

My name is Pete Wegner, my son Kyle and I are building a 53 F100 he has a 390/c6
with sanderson headers and a Heidst Super ride II for front suspension. I read you order a custom oil pan from Canton and said they now sell it. We looked at the web site and found the 16-870 but the rear pan will hang doun to far under the front suspension cross brace was wounding what the dimentions of the oil pan you had built were?

Thanks for any help Pete Wegner

Lance, I sent you reply back on 1/2/11 but it shows up in my box as if I sent it to myself. I may have done something wrong, what do I know about this stuff. I didnt want you to think I was being unfriendly. I might be computer illiterate but I'm not unfriendly. Its good to hear from a local. If you ever make back to the St. Louis area let me know and I can show off my truck.

Lance, Did you ever find the F1ZZ-6049-B heads? I have at least 1. The part number is correct. E numbers become Z numbers. E is the parts engineering number. When it becomes a service part, it gets a Z number. I am digging through a ton of NOS parts and I found 1 of your heads. Let me know [email protected]
