79 Ford paint scheme?

This is my 79 with a three inch lift riding on 35s mounted to 16 inch rims. it has a 400 but not quite sure what tranny it is mated with but it is a 4 speed and the camo paint job. I bought it this way I like the setup it has but I have run into a problem! I'm not sure if I should keep the camo or do one solid color or a two-tone paint job? Anybody have any suggestions would be greatly appriected. Sorry this is the only pic I have of my beast.

As for point jobs, you've got a long list to go through for colour JUST AS A STARTER.
Then if you're looking at different types of paint jobs, there are so many, it'll make your head spin. Lots look nice, lots are preference... it's basically all about narrowing down exactly what you want by looking at what other members have done (IMPO).
If you're looking into single colour and two-tone, take a look at this thread that I created a while back, asking for pictures of lots of paint jobs and pick out a few that catch your eye.
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...-two-tone.html
Once you've picked out a few that catch your eye, start looking into the colour schemes you've picked out. Find a couple that match and ask members for their opinion. Most members that want to say something extremely negatively, won't say much at all or even take the time to post about your idea (sometimes its good, sometimes its bad... feedback is always needed).
Once you've got your colours, your paint idea, and your opinions from FTE or wherever you want, ask yourself "will I like this for the next X years?"
"does it match my chrome I've got on my truck, or does it take away from it?"
"am I just stealing ideas, or is this really 'my' truck?"
These are all questions you need to consider.
If all you wanted was my opinion, and not for me to go on a ramble, single colour with basic chrome.
It's the best look IMPO. Two-tone looks okay for some people like the ones who have had the truck since original, or the ones that want to REALLY dress up their trucks (lowering kits, tint, etc...).
I must however admit that in the thread I listed above, there were some VERY NICE tu-tone trucks. Some people just have that "nack" to get a truck looking like a million bucks and their ideas just come to them in a flash of genius.... not me. I take my sweet a$$ time and think things through before I go for my "final look".
For me, it's single colour with just the single line of chrome down the sides of the body to the tailgate (from the 73-77 trucks). I'm also looking at adding chrome around the wheel wells, and along the bottom of the truck (the ripple-looking chrome with the black lines in the center).
Hopefully this helps you out a bit.

Seat conversions are VERY easy. Most ford seats from 2000 down need very little fabrication in order to get that comfort and stylist look in your old 79 beast.
If you're running a bench and you're not happy, go pick-n-pull hunting for a 2000 down set of buckets or a 60/40 with a center console. Much more efficient use of space with the added comfort is nice.
A black dash is wonderful! You can make ANYTHING go with black. Purple, orange, green, yellow, pink, red, orange and even... well... black haha.
You've got lots of options IMPO so far. You should really figure out what kind of chrome you want though. It's really going to change what kind of look you want your truck to have.
I understand that you want the tu-tone trim, but there is more to it than just that. Do you want a shiny beast? Or a tu-tone minimum chrome beast?
This is something to consider because there are lots of chroming options out there. Even the wide band at the bottom of the truck that's a rocker-style guard. Some trucks here on FTE even have those, and they look amazing with them.
I'd say it's also like looking at a newer old truck haha.
Here is what I'm talking about if you didn't get what I said about the lower or bottom chrome that the newer trucks usually get by their owners:

(Check the bottom of the doors, front drivers panel and box... they all have that chrome look, but it's actually a protector. Just another option.)

Alternatively, silver blue (a 65 Mustang color) with a white cab roof.

Your truck has a one-of-a-kind paint job from what I can tell. I've never seen camo like that before.
I'm sure there are many other things you could invest your money in, like those seats I was talking about. Definitely worth your money

looks good and nice to see a "camo" that isn't an army camo.
only thing i might do would be to clean it up and have someone
add airbrushed details to the background. think it would look cool.
or two tone black with orange and do a add'l orange trim around the main orange.
