Colour Preferences - Solid or Two Tone?

I'm looking for ideas for colours and preferences.

I want to hear all the great dentsiders ideas before I go off and spend to get my truck painted.

Right now, my truck is two-toned with all the trim readily available. I'm looking at changing that to made it Solid without ANY trim because that just looks old-school sweet, but I can't decide on a colour.

Does anyone have any good colour combinations for a two-tone truck?

How about a solid colour?

I'm looking for creative ideas, not just "red" or "black". Those are too plain for me, but as far as my dollar is being stretched, it may come down to a simple colour like "cherry red" or "jet black".

Let me know your trucks colour and your ideas! I'm all ears!

i like the factory 2 tone color combos. light blue/dark blue, tan/brown, light green/dark green, red/white, etc.

I think the dents look much better in 2 tone than painted a single color.

And seriously, red or black? idk... that just seems like such a cookie cutter color choice to me. But youre the one who has to drive it.

Just don't put racing stripes on it.
lol.

Two tone with chrome all the way. I almost removed my trim and repainted my truck. I am really glad now that I didn't as my taste has definitely changed some since then.

#1 reason for keeping it two tone with the chrome is that it REALLY sets it apart from all the ugly new trucks you see today. You can't get that type of detail on anything new these days. Without it, I feel it loses a little but of the style that makes it so cool.

When my grandpa bought my truck new in '78 he special ordered it in yellow/cream white with red sides. I have never seen another Ford on pictures or in person that has the same combo. Many that were close, but never one that was the same. That was my #2 reason to keep it. Although I have always thought the cream color was ugly, I can never change it.

On these trucks, I much prefer the tutone with certain combos, like Ford bright Red/Wimbledon white, dk brown metallic/cream, white/blue. Those would be followed by a couple of solid colors like dk metallic forest green and 'Ford' Blue. That would probably round out my top 5 color choices for these trucks.

Wow, I'm very surprised at the response. I would have thought that everyone thought a solid would look better.

I'm looking at doing some interesting colour coordinating.

1) Maybe like a burnt orange with white (hey! it'd look like a creamsickle!)

2) Burgundy with white

3) Bright Green with white

4) Baby blue with either a deep gray or a light, white-ish gray.

Any suggestions?

I've seen a VERY VERY nicely painted dentside on here. I don't remember whose it was, but it was a black that faded to baby blue. Wow that was a nice paintjob.

When the funds come around (praying sooner than later) I want to paint mine (I believe the color is) Dark Light Blue, with a metallic tone to it...I've always wanted a dark blue truck, and Lord willing I will be able to have one very soon, but I also like the 2 tone colors...I will keep watching and looking.

just like the other thread, I prefer 2 tone if you got the trim.
Either way it won't be an ugly truck!

so far I'm the lone vote for solid color! I always thought tu-tone was too fuddy-duddy looking, like white wall tires on a Lincoln, looks like Grandpa should be driving it.
Personally I'm into green, a nice dark metallic green.
If you do go tu-tone though, I like Tangerine/cream, that's what my first dent was.

I think tu tone looks the best also, unfortunatly I just painted my truck a solid color because it's a scs and no one makes the trim for it to divide the colors. redsuperduty, that has got to be one of the sweetest trucks I've seen!

That's funny because I got my truck from my grandpa. He also has a lincoln.

redsuperduty wow... wow is all that is needed. Nice truck man. I hope mine turns out even 1/2 as nice as that. That's immaculate.

I'm thinking tu-tone now for sure haha.

Just the colour combo is what I'm unsure of.

I love both styles if done right. However, my truck will be going back to dark green metallic for simplicity, and because that's what it was originally.

Oh, and lose the trim...our trucks look much, much better naked!

My vote is two tone aand keep the trim. I'd give my left lug nut to have my supercab in full trim and two tone......IMHO
