not sure what you need, but I've got a few parts. I have a 47 1 Ton, best I can tell it is Model 79Y. I have the 4 speed transmission (with pto), 5 17" wheels, and the complete rear differential that hopefully someone can use. I bought the truck recently, the original motor and transmission had been replaced with a 351W and automatic transmission. The motor was discarded by the previous owner, but he still had the tranny and gave it to me with the truck purchase. I plan to replace the rear-end with a Ford F-100 9" and use 15" Ford rims.

Have you sold the 17" wheels? I could use 4 good tires. I also need front and rear brake drums? The rears are 14" front are 12".

Do you still have the 4 speed PTO tranny? If so please give me a call 813-846-3368

Ken

PS I'm also trying to get to my 25 posting or I would have asked this question with my other one for the wheels

Do you need just the rear brake drums? I have an axle from a 47 3/4 or 1 ton. It has 5 lugs on a large 6 7/8 (or so) inch bolt circle.

Also, how did you end up with a 54 with a flathead? What part of the world do you live in?

I have not pulled the rear drums yet. But I may need a couple 14" drums.

I also have some 17" tires and wheels from my 38 tonner if anyone needs them. I used a bed from a 47 but had to narrow it down by a couple of inches. I drove it for 11 years as my daily driver. I love one ton pickups. Doing a 59 flareside right now. I am north of Seattle. So great to see you restoring a big pickup! Two enthusiastic thumbs up!!!!

Flatheads were used up through the '54 model year in Canada

One must get creative when searching for those parts. I guess desparate might be a better word. I narrowed a later box as I mentioned but I also blended my short running boards to the back ends of the long ones that were with the bed. Lastly, I used a GMC tailgate that was hanging on my fence, and bought a ford stamped bed repair panel from someone and welded it in place of the GMC logo. One of the stake pockets was missing so I made another from wood.... Never get points at a show, but that truck has sold twice since I sold it 12 years ago and is now in Upstate NY, owned by someone who really enjoys it, from what I last heard. I was raising 4 kids back then and had to do it on the cheap. I painted the bed with some rustoleum red with flat white to 'oxidize' it and some cornstarch to further reduce the gloss. So, don't lose heart when you can't find the exact parts.
