Sounds just like what my Brother-inlaw would do! He just busted a cheby 350 starter mount using wrong bolts! He calls me to figure it out, told him have to pull engine and have someone HOW IS ABLE to weld cast iron blocks PROPERLY and get repair it. Responce was: "..... you can weld, so get under there and fix it...." That resulted in a good talk down from me!
Some people should never touch a vehicle, but those who do usually make good deals for us!
I'm going to get that spare ceiling fan my Dad is going to toss out and try to make it work like that.....
On a another side. My friend used to work for wally world auto repair. They had some woman keep coming in and buying engine oil. After getting probly 15 quarts, they asked her what was going on. She though you had to fill the engine up to the oil filler! At least they stopped her from starting the engine.

That's awesome. Now if I'm ever in a position to blow up an engine, I want to fill it clear full of oil, just to see what happens.
I can almost understand the drilling through the ECU when trying to mount plates on a bike. I had to tap my air box for a place to bolt in my plate on my quad, but at least I checked to make sure I wasn't gonna hit anything!
