Well slacker, thanks for posting this because I have the same problem and I know my sway bar end link bushing are hosed, but I was afraid the noise was coming from somewhere else. Now I'm pretty sure that it's just the sway bar bushings on their last leg. Reps for sharing (and finally getting the job done ) Did you press them out yourself or have a shop do it?
Okay Nolan, I will be the first to pick on you. Remember I grew up in California, and lived just about 30 miles from the pier in Santa Cruz when I was in high school. So now that you know what I know about Californicater's what do you suppose is my first thought trying to explain your world class procrastination? I will not come right out and say it, I will let you guess and or other members take a shot at it.
No pressing required... And i thought for sure it was something different when i took them out because they weren't tore up but oh man what a difference... If you replace them with poly ones make sure to use a good thick grease between them and the metal or the will squeak. And make sure you are parked on good level flat ground. I was not and had to jack up the bar to do the right side and then poull down on the bar on the left side... Thanks for the reps
Nolan... your thread does my heart good!! Glad I'm not the only one with parts sitting around waiting for me to get off my duff and "get 'er done"! I've had a few good excuses this summer, and have frequently been tied up with my covers since Christmas, but I know I could have probably made more time if I had wanted to.
Glad it was the problem and ya got it fixed! Regardless of how long it took you haha. I almost procrastinated myself out of warranty on my Brakejob, turned out I had a defect on my Hawk Pads, and it was a 21 day return policy, I had waited 5 weeks but I sweet-talked my way into a full refund
I sat on my TransGo kit for several months before I got to it. Part of it was that I didn't need new ATF, part of it was my procrastination. I'm sorry I waited so long now that I felt how much of a difference it makes!!
Finally! A solution to a problem I posted 2 years ago!
What are the parts numbers for the bushings AND the entire sway bar?
Any links for the two of 'em? Prices, inc what the shop charged for pressing?
I saw the page refed but didn't find the part.
It may just be easier to replace with a new bar after all the logistics are considered.
