HO CHI MIN Inc. had quality control issues. Still does. There are still a few NOS ones out there. PM Number Dummy and he can tell you where they are hiding.

Some are still available NOS, but...just wait till you take a look-see at the prices!

C2TZ-16796-C .. Right Hood Hinge / Obsolete / 20 available NOS, 6 @ FoMoCo Dealers.

Last MSRP: $1,281.93 (I kid you not!) // Dealer net cost: $769.16.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
C2TZ-16797-C .. Left Hood Hinge / Obsolete / 21 available NOS, 8 @ FoMoCo Dealers.

Last MSRP: $353.00 // Dealer net cost: $211.80.

Fits: 1961/66 F100/1100 & B500/750 (B-School Bus) / 1967/69 F800/1000.

Why is the right more expensive than the left? Demand is the answer. FoMoCo had to make more to meet it, and every time they did, the prices went up.

This was also the case for the left, but since the demand was less, the hinge was not remade as often.

As I recall, both had an MSRP of around 25 bucks originally.

I can list all the sources that have the little darlin's, but what they will want $ wise for them, I dunno.

The dealers are STUCK with them, since they cannot be returned to FoMoCo for credit.

Those are wild prices! Since the dealers are stuck with them, and it's in their inventory, would they be willing to negotiate? Just curious.

on the right side\left side demand issue, here's what may be the cause- men like us since the since the 60's were always raising the hood on the left side usually, to get at the battery. So we would favor the left side of the hood when raising it, placing more strain on the right hinge. and of course, when we were done, we [I] would be too lazy to center my arm on the hood. I'd simply slam the hood from the battery side, wipe the acid off my hands onto my pants, jump back in and head down the driveway grease -n- acid all over the steerin wheel. ya'll know
