Craig - I hope it means good things on the horizon; because I just don't get it (all the bad stuff lately). Supposedly NV is passing a law to remove the current helmet law. Bad idea if you ask me. We have enough accidents/deaths when they wear these novelty half helmets that don't protect crap. Going to be much worse if there is no helmet law here and then insurance will go up for everyone. :-( Definitely shoot me a PM if you are cruising through town. I'll meet up if I'm still living here.

Bruce - Really there is no need to berate Craig since he was just responding to my original rant. If anything, I'm the one at fault for starting it. :-( It's just how I see things here from my personal experience is all. It's not all bad here, but some things are. Just like any state/city. I absolutely hated the lack of parking where I lived in San Diego. Drove me nuts. :-P

Donna - No, that wasn't me. :-( I only have plain dark tinted windows; no stickers yet.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

Thank you Steve. I second that motion!
(although I personally went off more on the State itself...I'm partially to blame as well talking about the tourism /visitors) My apologies to all!

I really oppose the helmet laws as I do the seat belt laws. I see them as basically laws to protect ourselves from ourselves. But having said that I still wear a helmet in a State that has no helmet law & would wear seat belts even if there wasn't a law.
My feeling is if you want to kill yourself then that is OK with me. I do believe that a person under a certain age say 18 should be protected. But once you reach a legal age then it should be on you. My insurance here in Arizona is cheaper than it was in rural Nevada. That is just my opinion. I guess those views come from growing up in Nevada which was very much a Libertarian
State in my younger years.
We love Nevada, We grew up in it. We own property & a house in Nevada, We have owned a business in Nevada for 20 years. But the politics sucks. As with anyone who has lived 60+years in one place change happens but negative change gets old. When we went to school in Nevada, Nevada had great schools & teachers. Over the years education has been degraded awful. (50th in the nation) The business climate is not better. Nevada leads the Nation in Violate Crime. When Corporate America took over the Casino business things started a downward spiral in Nevada. To us that is very sad. So we sure hope things turn around we have hoped for that for several years now. Nevada was on tap to be a World leader in Science with Yucca Mountain. With thousands of high paying jobs. Just look at an Old Master Plan for Southern Nye County, if you can find one. From Las Vegas to Beatty was to be a High Tech Science corridor. The new Casino owners killed that. One thing I have seen is Nevada politics has been influenced very much by the Corporate owned casino business & Nevada's growth. Unlike Arizona the politics has remained much the same over the years. I have been in & around Arizona since the 50s as a kid. My parents use to vacation here when I was growing up. My Dad towed our camp trailer here & into Mexico on vacations. He was one of the original RVers from the 50s. (WE is my wife & I) I guess I know too much about the State we grew to love over the years.
Everyone have a great Memorial weekend & remember our servicemen & women that have given so much.
Craig

Good Morning All!

On this Memorial Day weekend, lets' think about the brave men and women, who gave their lives so you could have your freedom.

Think about the families, who gave a son or daughter to that cause and think of all the people who are now free because of the sacrifices that American soldiers have made throughout history, many of them giving their lives for it.

Let's Celebrate Memorial Day for what it stands for and not as a 3 day holiday weekend. - "Garret Watson"

Good Evening Donna.
Nothing wrong with doing that Donna. Sometimes I have to start my day over a few times. I just don't go completely back to bed.
Did a bunch of 4x4 driving today in the Kofa National Wildlife Refuge. Miles & miles of 4x4 roads to travel. Didn't see any big horn sheep it was too hot for them to be out. They also went back to bed until it cools off tonight. It was 102 degrees today. Spring is here. Suppose to cool off tomorrow & Monday then back into the 100s.

I went to Reno to pick up some friends from the airport. I left at 4:30 and when I got back around 7:00 we had three inches of snow. No snow when I left. It was pretty nice out so I thought Reno would be nice.... NOT! Cold and raining up there. Gotta love living in the mountains.
