If the door locks are original ford SHOULD be able to get the key code from the vin. The ranger may have had the ignition replaced at one point. Anyway i second Aune on the locksmith!
Normally i'd keep being lazy, but last night someone got into my truck and stole my brand new sawzall and a garden hose. I just bought them yesterday...
Time to get this fixed... Even if i have to replace all of the lock cylinders...
Thinkin about this some more I realized my passenger side door wont even lock!!! Never have to worry about gettin locked out. I have those damn electric locks and it went a few months ago on be. Been sittin in my bard so im not worried. Ill be fixind it asap next 2 weeks or so.
I do the same 1low, I always say that if I park in someone's way they can move it! as far as getting anything stolen, I keep all my tools in the back anyway.
I'm not sure why, but my keys can come out of the ignition once the truck is in run. I now start it then put the keys in my pocket right away; never forget them that way.
Before that habit, I had gone out and started the truck to warm it up, brought my keys inside, grabbed my lunch pail and took off to work. Realized at the end of the day I had no keys to re-start it with, lol.
My dads windstar does that as half the key broke of in the ignition. Just put some sorta key in there and turn. Good to go. I locked my keys out once just used a piece of metal and rotated the vent windows put my hand in and opened the door.
I have one set of keys for the vehicle, and then I have my set of keys I take everywhere that contains a spare for each of the cars, house key, shop key, airplane key, hangar key, padlock keys...
At home the keys stay in the tractors, keys stay in the truck... really only lock my car with the keyless remote. Truck I don't lock unless I'm in a busy shopping area so nobody nabs the CB radio. Ahh the luxury of living on a 100 acre farm in the boonies!

I hear ya on living in the boonies, about the same way here... 20 miles to any town of size in 3 directions.
Locked doors, what's that? I never had a door key for my 94, just take the key out of the ignition when I park it anywhere in town
