allen key size for fuel rail drain?

I'm draining the fuel rail from the plug at the back of the cylinder head. In my manual it looks like an allen key but I can't seem to get metric or imperial to fit. Anyone now what size allen fits (or is it allen), there is not much room there to fit my hands in.

If I'm thinking of the same plug you are, its not an allen, you use a ratchet.
Just wondering, why are you draining the fuel rail?

The hole is actually a square 9/32 hole. A 1/4 inch rachet will drive it if you can get the rachet in there.
If you are doing this to pull injectors then you could just use a shop vac and get small tubing to suck the cylinders out. I would not mess with the drain plug/ banjo bolt because you would have to replace the oring on it when you are done and it is a real PAIN IN THE KEESTER TO GET TO!
If pulling injectors use vacuum to get most liquid out of cylinder. Do the back one first on each side as the rails will drain most fluid in the rail to the back injector.
Pull the rest and suck the rest out with above stated vacuum. Pull glow plugs. After all vacuumed out and all gp out then rotate engine by hand or pull the fuel pump fuse and turn it over a few times to get the rest of the liquid out. Put some rags over all the holes to keep from blowing mist fuel/oil all over your engine compartment or just rest the valve covers in place to keep it in your engine. To each his own.
Hope this is what you were looking for.
Dwayne

Thanks for the info that's great! Im pulling the injectors to replace the orings. Its puffing blue everytime it starts.

Another question for you though. I pulled off the pipes to the turbo that run over the valve cover. I know it normal to have oil in these but money has a puddle, also quite a bit more than residue at the intake of the compressor wheel. Anything to worry about?

Just sounds like your CCV oil over years of use.

Here are injector R&R instructions.

You can do a reroute of the ccv and clamp off the original suction to the turbo.

Thanks for the instruction sheet on the orings Clay, another reference with pics is always helpful.

As for the ccv, i would have chalked it up to years of use but I had the intake off a month ago to inspect the turbo wheel for play. I wiped it out then. Over the last few years, taking thing apart once in awhile, I notice oil (wipe it out) but not this much. Wondering if this is where the oil burning at start up is coming from (and not the injectors). Should I clean out the intercooler maybe?
