EGT sensor location... Baby's butt?

While I've got my entire exhaust off the truck, would there be an advantage to move my EGT sensor to a location that could monitor EGT's for both heads (like the baby's butt) instead of just one of the heads (drivers side in my case)? Or would that be to far away from the engine.

There really isn't a shared exhaust location at the baby's butt because of the dividing wall where it connects. The probe would have to be in the turbine housing, after the BB, and would not be in a very good spot if it were to break.

Hmmm, that's right, but while it's off the truck, that problem could be rectified . If I created a cavity for the probe, do you think it would ride?

If you were having problems and you had it in the bb you would know it but you won't know what side, but I guess that's not the point. I have seriously thought of instaling a second pyro for the pass side just to see what it's doing in comparison. Still might do it. What turned me on to this was I was measuring the temp of the manifold with a temp gun directly in front of the exaust port. All were close in temp but #5, it was almost 30deg hotter than the rest. I found that to be odd! Even if I just had the thermal couple on the pass side just to switch sides to see. Blah blah blah. Just rambling!
