have you checked the connection at the location where you tapped into the power source? how about the wires from the power source to the gauges? are they kinked, ripped, cut, anything? wiggle the gauge out of the pod, check to see if the electrical connection is good there, and if the power to the tranny temp/oil temp is wired in parallel, is a wire unhooked/missing? you check the wire that goes from the guage to the thermocouple? is the connection of the yellow and red wires good at the thermocouple?
the boost gauge will work with no electrical power (aside from lighting it) because it is mechanical.
likewise. the oil pressure is electric, if there is a wire running to a sensor for it. for it to be mechanical, there has to be an oil hose or something running to the actual gauges. they do make contraptions that measure pressure and convert it to electric for electrical gauges. look in both manifolds/uppipes to see if you can find a thermocouple sticking out of a manifold. it may Also be in the downpipe.
please send me that diagram. .... i sent u my email.
might have found something today when i was installing my fogs on front. The egt module pack under dash had its ground wire pulled out. Must of happen when someone ripped out something else. Hooked it up. Guage actually reads 0 when i turn on key now. Havent tried to drive yet to see if it works. If i let the truck idle for 15 minutes should it read any temp???
