Anyone notice location of EGT sensor on long bed?

I noticed this this morning while under my truck. The EGT sensor just after the DPF on my long bed dually is right under the open gap between the bed and the cab. Directly exposed to water falling and running down between the cab and bed. Wonder if that is a contributing factor to that one going bad???

mine appears to me to be just under the bed of the truck, safe and out of the way.

It shouldn't - all those sensors should be tested for water resistance (they are all exposed to splash from the road anyway)

The underside of the truck gets pummeled by everything and basically gets pressure washed when you drive through a rain storm. In light of those other situations, wouldn't worry about dripping water.

Yeah I realize that, I was just trying to rationalize why that one was near that gap and wasn't at least protected by a shield of some sort.

I suppose you could fab something if you desired. With my headache rack I think mine will be ok.

Debris would be my concern if anything.

cause the exhaust engineers and the body engineers didn't see the intersection.

remember the caramo that you had to jack up the engine off the motor mounts to change the plugs?!..

You can see in this pic what I am referring to. See the bed gap right above the sensors. Strange..I thought!
