Why different part #'s for...

...on body door seal for 99-04 supercab?

seems ya could use the same one on both sides.

I think that you are missing the obvious... The door seals "match" the door designs, which are "opposite" from driver side versus passenger side.

Does this make sense?

No not really.
I bought the drivers side because the old one was missing a substanstial amount of "bubble seal",
the new one (new &improved) when unrolled from the box lays flat,
it's basically an extrusion and is formed by installing to the body.
The passenger side is about $10 more
