Can anyone tell me how to get the gear indicator lights to stay on? I can do it manually but it has to be every time I restart the motor. I think it completes the instrument cluster with it one.
I'd love to have it stay on but, I've yet to find how to make that happen so, I too just keep tapping the button each time I start the truck and put it in gear. If anyone figures out a way to keep the display on I'd be interested in the solution.
He's talking about the gear indicator that will come on when you hit the + button on your shifter. It shows what gear you're in. You can also use it to lock out gears.
When your 11 arrives, you can check it out. But in the mean time, go to http://www.motorcraftservice.com and download the 11 owners guide to read up about your soon to arrive new truck.

Gotcha. Thanks. Yes, I have read the Manual front to back and read the ordering guide numerous times. I'm downsizing from a Super Duty, so I'm excited since the F150 now seems to be every bit as capable as my Powerstroke (for what I'm going to use it for anyway).
My brother has a 2011 FX4 and his comes on automatically. The only differences in his and mine is his has the ecoboost mine is 5.0, his is 61/2 foot mine is 51/2, his has the nav mine don't, his has 20 inch wheels mine has 18s, his has moonroof mine don't. That would not make the difference of his coming on automatically. I'm on a quest now. Talk it up and let's get it fixed.
From the owners manual, "PRS (Progressive Range Selection) With the gearshift lever in D
(Drive), press the – button to active PRS. The available and selected gears will be indicated on the instrument cluster."
