Hey guys, I almost have my baby back on the road. I am looking to buy an exhaust kit for my 84 Ford F250 SC long bed. I am hoping to find some that are 2.5-3 inch and I plan to run them in front of my rear tires, but out the side. I think a single muffler with two outlets, or even a dual muffler setup would be ok. Presently, I am not running headers and have no idea what I need to buy in terms of this exhaust setup, so any tips/links would be very helpful.
I talked to the exhaust shop. If i provided the headers and y pipe he would come back and then exit in back of the passenger rear tire.
I have this so far on my list: headers, (I assume I need a y pipe which is dang pricey), then my exhaust pipe back to my muffler and then a short piece and a tip.
I am not finding anything for a 460 in terms of a kit, can I modify anything? What is the best place to order this through?
Spend some time on Summitracing.com. Figure out how you want your exhaust ran and buy the mandrel bent pieces accordingly. Example, if you want both pipes to run down the passenger side you will need 2 90 degree bends and then either 2 90's or 45's to point it out the side before the rear tire. 2 1/2" should be fine. Then have the shop weld up the system. Keep the crush/bends to a minimum. Do not go over the axle and out the rear unles the tube is mandrel. The crush/bent will choke the 460.
