I am obvioulsy not afraid to modify my truck so this isnt for everyone....
If that's not the same exact camera I ordered, it looks darn close! I may have to mount in my door like that if mounting in the license plate doesn't provide a good angle. I also have a black X so the black camera blends in nicely. (back door won't rust because it's not metal, right!)
There was someone else on here that mounted thiers in the plastic pc below the rear wiper. That gave them a good angle down to see the hitch and still enough to use for backing up. They Sid a nice clean job finishing it off and you could hardly see it there. I just don't remember the fellas name to point you in the right direction, but hopefully someone else does, but it gives another option for that camera.
I have a pioneer touch screen head-unit, so I did something similar.
In addition to the automatic back-up mode when I put it in reverse, it also has a "backup camera" button to view the back-up camera at any time. Being that I tow a small trailer every so often, I thought this would be a good idea. Except... the camera is usually powered by the reverse lights, and I have no desire to just have it "on" and draining batteries the whole time. Instead, I have a switch in the dash, wired to a relay in the back. The camera now comes on whether I put the truck in reverse, or if i turn on the switch. I can now "spy" on trailer activity while im driving down the road. Came in handy once when one of my chains had somehow come unhooked and was hopping and sparking around back there.
And I had the same problem with the condensation inside the camera. I havent replaced it yet, but I'd like to find one that doesnt fog up after a good rain. It stays like that for weeks, and honestly, never comes crystal clear again.
How did you mount the LCD monitor to the windshield? Nice install BTW!
Thanks
It came with double stick tape so i used that. Its crappy tape and popped off so today I'm going to either use some gorrilla glue or higher quality tape. No biggy.

I had a backup mon mounted in same place. I had it zip tied to the wires coming down to the mirror. Adjusted mirror up a bit and stayed in place nicely for 2 yrs.
