I have heard that we can buy replacement rocker pannels for our trucks now. Since mine are completely shot, im thinking im going to cut them out myself and weld them back in.
i have found them before by googling patch panels and other key words like that. normally there are a couple of sites that pop up and then you can enter your truck info like you would on autozones website and it normally will bring you to a page of patch panels from fenders to rockers to bed panels. you may need to buy some plain sheet metal too becaus i habe looked my truck over wanting to do this, and my rockers' rust has spread up to behind my front fenders a bit and i dont think the replacements cover that.
Ya i have seen a few around. Im looking more for some personal experiances. I know theres got to be a few of us that have cancer on our rocker pannels.
Hi there, what kind of rocker panels are you considering? You're just going to buy replacement stock panels? Why not go for aftermarket ones since you're already going to replace them anyway! I saw some diamond plates on my neighbor's truck and although they may look a little too tacky for some, I found them very functional and they resist hits from rocks or rust very well.
I just got a full set of door bottom panels, lower front box corners, and the rocker panels. I bought them from Auto Value Auto Parts, but the labels on the back said Keystone Auto parts. $1000 for all.
All for a '99 extended cab.
