3 blinks with the bass boat in tow. I did notice that the default trailer mileage does not work with the bass boat plugged in. I plug it into the 7 pin round plug with an adapter. It does say that the trailer is disconnected.
I have two trailers with brakes and one without. When I plug in one of the two with brakes, the center screen will default to the last one I had selected. If that's not the one I'm hooked to, I change the screen to reflect the proper trailer. All that really does is keep track of the miles on that trailer and the brake gain I've chosen for that particular trailer.
When I hook up to the one without brakes, nothing happens until I put the tranny in reverse. Then I get the rear sensor alarm. In other words, this truck doesn't care if you have a trailer without brakes hooked up. I think the trigger to knowing you have a trailer hooked up is in the trailer brake circuit.
I wonder if you used a regular 7 pin connector for your trailer without brakes, if the truck would think you have a trailer with brakes behind you? Might have to hook a looped or dummy wire to the brake circuit on the trailer side of the connector. Be careful as this would be a live circuit. I've been going to try this for a long time but haven't, it's just that I'm too dang lazy.

Using the 7 pin connector with a 4 pin from a brakeless trailer still gives me 3 blinks. It definitely is related to whether the trailer has brakes or not.
Thot I read somewhere here on FTE that the turn signals are controlled by the BCM. Same as the DRL option that the dealer can activate. Hence, I wonder if the dealer can activate five- blink? Or, I wonder if FOMOCO can flash the BCM to do a 3, 5, or 7 blink option which you can then select the one you want. Things that make ya go hmmm.
Mine's a Job 1. June 10, 2010 build date. I haven't noticed how many blinks are available. When I change lanes I just hit the stalk and let er blink till I'm done, then hit it again to shut it off. I probably have only used the three blink option half a dozen times. I will have to check to see how many blinks there are when the trailer is hooked up.
