Guys,
I just bought an older 2002 merc mountaoneer with the 4.0 2wd, and I was going to put in the denso iridium spark plugs, but when I started looking in the workshop manuel its telling me to use the AGSF22PP.
I researched it and it's MORE than the irridiums! So, does it truely matter or is my info just outdated?
The workshop manual is not going to tell you to use something other than OEM style plugs, such as the double platinums. Others on this forum will probably also say to stick only with the OEM style plug. I have used Iridium plugs in several late model vehicles with no issues, including my 2000 Mountaineer V8 and my current 2004 Mountaineer V8.
yeah I know the manual is good for so many things, ecept the why. I just may do double plat and replace the coil while I am at it. I mean.. it's been almost 10yrs and I know the previous owner....
