I toured this operation a few years ago. Wagonerkl, it was right in your backyard up the Mt Baker Hwy. I last talked to the owner about a year ago. He has moved on to other ventures. I was led to believe he moved or liquidated this stash. I was trying to locate a wing window frame and I got the impression he had lost interest in the enterprise. As you all know, what goes bad on one truck often goes bad on most of them. You end up with a pile of trucks that all have rusted beds, cabs, radiator supports, cut dashes and sagging headliners.
Yes, this is indeed from the HAMB forums and yes, it's in NW Washington state. The pics are very recent, so the guy still has all this stuff. From what I understand he has over 50 trucks.
Before you get all worked up over "rust free" west coast trucks, you have to realize it rains about 325 days a year here in the northwest. We don't use a lot of salt on the roads but vehicles here are wet year round. The truck beds with a scoop of fir tree needles sit with a couple inches of water turn the floor into swiss cheese. Condesation collects in the cab, especially under that rubber mat and you're looking at the road through the floor in no time. You can't confuse the northwest with the southwest!
At the time I looked through this collection, there wasn't a sound long, style side bed in the bunch. I offered the collector $1000 for such a piece, but he has never been able to find one. This is a cool collection, I enjoyed looking it over and the collector is a very nice guy, but in my opinion, most of the good stuff is long gone.
