Installed the BakFlip HD yesterday - pics are below. All-in-all, I'm satisfied with the product. There are a few minor "fit and finish" items I was a little disappointed with, but the positives of the cover (low profile, hard top) outweigh any negatives. I wish they would add just another 1/4" of rubber around each side - I think it would lay over the rail a bit better.
By the end of the day sitting in 80 degree sun, the "bubbles" in the rubber stripping in the photos had gone flat and look much better. I think they just got a bit "wrinkled" in shipping.
Looks just like mine! Except I've had it on the truck for a month now. As the cover sits in the sun the rubber gasket along the edge will relax and give a better fit. Mine looked that way too when installed. Just shut the tailgate first before closing the back and that will keep the rubber gasket on the back lip from curling under the rear edge.
95-99% watertight I would say. Only noticed a little bit of water coming in the corners after an all-day heavy rain soaker event. But during light rains or washing my truck, I don't notice any water in the bed.
That really is a sweet color. What made you decide on that cover vs any other hard cover, cap, or soft cover?
I'll throw my 2 cents at that question. I had a factory tonneau cover on my Lightning and developed a strong dislike for the soft covers during that time. The stitching was unravelling on the corners when I finally got rid of it. I had a fiberglass tonneau on a previous truck and was happy with it, as long as I didn't have to take it on and off. It was too big and heavy to do alone, and was difficult to store when it was off. Having my 09 with the side steps made the Bak-flip cover ideal for me. I can reach into the most forward part of the bed with three sections folded back using the side steps. No leakage in several heavy downpours and several washings. Very pleased with fit and function.

For me it was more about the low profile and the way the material blends well with the look of the truck. I didn't want anything that would take away from the look of the truck. The hard material for extra security is a great benefit too.
Yes, I drilled 3/4" hole in each drain cap in the front of the bed to run the drain tubes. I ended up peeling the line-x material off the drain caps, but I could have left it with it on.
