hey guys i am stacking 2 stock blocks on the rear leaf springs of my 90 f150, where can i get U bolts that are long enough to work? thanks for any help!!
not a good idea.. get bigger springs or at least flip the shackles.. do it right
thank you for your input i appreciate the advice, but even aftermarket lift kits use blocks to lift the rear, so i do not see why this is not right? its better than some of my friends who make lift kits out of wood or whatever scrap they have laying around, plus its a 21 yr old truck i dont want to spend $600+ on a actual lift kit, i got the truck for free soyou can understand where i am coming from..
Get a tape measure and measure your stock u-bolts(length and axle diameter) then add the height of your second block. NAPA, Advanced, Auto Zone and the like all stock u-bolts. You will most likely need the same length ones a F350 uses.
I am not a fan of stacking blocks, try and find 1 block for the total height.
F350 use 4"
F250 use 2.5"

They use lift blocks, but they're not using two stacked on top of eachother.
Blocks act like a lever arm when you start them longer and longer. Read up about axle wrap. Well, that effect is magnified the more blocks you put on there. The more blocks you put in, it exponentially increases the amout of stress you put on the spring and the driveline.
So...go ahead man, but the next time you do a hole shot and you break a spring, or blow a u-joint up....dont say i didnt tell you so.

Actually YOU are wrong. All of the suspension companies out there give you a block to STACK on top of your stock block unless you go with replacement springs or add-a-leaf
Anybody will sell you anything as long as people will buy it. Just because you can get one doesn't mean you should use it. Stacked blocks are very dangerous, even if they're only on the back. Just a little bit of stretch in the u-bolts, and that happens, and those blocks can kick out on land you on your lid in a heartbeat. or a barrel roll. or a cartwheel.
At any rate, if your as little a fan as I am of truck gymnastics and breakage, don't do a block stack. Flip the rear shackles. Its much safer, adds articulation, and costs as much as grade 8 bolts.
so back to the original question....where can i get longer U bolts? i called autozone and all they had were stock size, they said 250 and 350 were same as 150,

NO. F150 u-bolts are different then F250 and also different than F350
F350 u-bolts are approx 13.5" long
F250 u-bolts are approx 10" long
I dont have a F150 other wise I would give your those measurments

If you have a farm/tractor supply type store near you, they will typically carry them.
