well on the pre-2011 systems, the specific number of horn honks/chirps after non-startups were used to help troubleshoot the system. But I have yet to find a technical file that describes the new 2011 factory system in greater detail and how to troubleshoot it. Also, since it's all plug-n-play now, there's not really much you can check on your own (like if a wire came loose or something), so it sounds like you have to take it back to the dealer.
