Colin, the shocks I can tell you now,as I replaced my ten year old shocks under warranty last fall.
Front: KYB 343039
Rear: KYB KG5517
I'd double check that, but should be correct.See if they have an application chart on their website.I could give you the Ford part number for the cable, but that would be useless at a parts store,I'd think.
Does anyone know how to get the manufacture part number from the LMC catalog?
Impossible. The repro parts sellers have to pay a fat license fee to FoMoCo to use Ford part numbers in their catalogs. Most do not, so have invented their own part numbers.
AFAIK, only Dennis Carpenters catalogs feature Ford part numbers because he pays the license fee.
For older vehicles such as these, I doubt most autoparts stores can cross OEM (Ford part numbers) numbers over to the brands they sell.
B7C-17260-A .. Speedometer Cable & Housing Assy-69.20" long / Obsolete / Reproduction available from Carpenter for $20.00.
Fits: 1957/60 F100/700 (1959/60 F100/250 without 4WD) with Borg Warner T-98 4 speed manual.
I think he just wanted the KYB part #. Personally I think LMC's on-line store sucks, I have never seen such a crappy arrangement for on-line ordering. Fortunately they are liberal with sending out hard copies every couple months, and they are pretty nice.
Colin,I just noticed that you have a dually, and since I know nothing, you should check that application for the rear shocks.I was unaware there was a dually F250 in that era truck,is it from Ford?
thanks, I understand why they don't use Ford number I was just trying to know if there was a way to find the manufacture number(for example, LMC's pn for KYB shocks are not the actual KYB pn.)
It's a '59 F250 with '59 F350 dually axles. Same shock mounts and dimensions as the F250. Also does anyone know the Gas-A-Just number for the front? They're supposed to be a little beefier than the GR2s listed.
I think those numbers I posted are for the gas-adjust shocks.LMC probably uses the least expensive, generic supplier they can find for the speedo-cable,not a name brand supplier. If you decide to buy a genuine Ford,I or NumberDummy can give you a Ford part number, and maybe even locate one for you. They may be the same or less than a part of questionable origin/quality.Let me know your transmission, and wheelbase.
