I have a 2010 F-150 Lariat and from the salted snow and slushy roads I have rust stains on the wheels. It is not severe and I dont think the wheels are steel but I would like to remove the rust stains without damaging the wheels, any suggestions?
Thanks!
I would try a solution of baking soda & water-
Auto paint supply stores also sell (or have access to) iron oxide removal/neutraling solutions for paint
Squirt some "The works" toilet bowl cleaner on it and let it sit for 45 seconds then rinse. I purchased an old truck that sat under a rusting fire scape for two years in downtown Pittsburgh pa. After two years the paint was covered in rust stains from the fire escape above. Two bottles of "The works" and the paint looked new again. This won't let you down and you'll be amazed at how well it works.
It has the standard wheels that come on a Lariat, not painted. I will try to attach photo.
Thos eare either powder coated or sprayed with a baked on enamel.....DO NOT USE ANY CORROSIVE PRODUCT!!!!!
Try the water baking soda mix, then if that doesn't do it make a trip to the auto paint supply store...they will have what you need to safety remove and neutralize any residue
A Medium polish will fix it safely. (not a wax or compound. It has to say Polish) Rub on by hand and work it. If its really bad you can add a Mothers PowerBall to the mix.
