Interested to see their full potential. Just not ready to sacrifice my virgin yet.
I recently purchased a 2012 F250 with the 6.7PSD. Was getting some basic mods done and asked about bypassing all the DEF, etc. I was told they can no longer do the mods to those systems. The owner would not elaborate....but implied that the feds were frowning upon these type of modifications being done at all MUCH LESS by a licensed mechanic shop.

Anyone else have more detail on this or run into this?

I performed an EGR/DPF/Urea delete on mine a few thousand miles ago (23K miles).. Took me and two diesel mechanics about 5 hours total.. The bulk of that being the EGR.. NOTE: The amount of soot sitting in the EGR ducting had closed it up by 50%.. That's ricidulous! We stood there in disbelief.. That can't be good for the engine.. Deleted, I'm now getting 3 MPG better across the board with no more urea refills or regens.. The power increase is amazing! For those environment conscious members who question the black smoke, H&S's latest tune update elliminated 95% of the smoke previously reported by FTE members.. Everyone is entitled to an opinion but you'd have a hard time convincing me that I'm negatively impacting the environment when I'm not rolling smoke and my fuel usage dropped 30%..

I would love to see a picture of that but i don't totally doubt it. My EGR cooler was only on the truck for 5,000 kM (3,000 miles) and there was already some pretty good chuncks starting........

There are a bunch of flat out ---holes on this board. The guy started a thread wanting simple info and we got three pages of judgmental old ladies with their purses having a philosophical debate about everything from carcinogens to global warming. You bunch off ****** make me want to go back to GM. It's still kind of a free country , in spite of ---holes like you all that are more than willing to sacrifice liberty for freedom because your second grade teachers and granola crunching professors told you that we all needed to be like Captain Planet.
Leave this guy alone if you don't like what he is doing.
Some of you make me sick. Bunch of damn coward for the most part.

If you don't like consumption of fossil fuels and the by product there of, do something about it other than bagging on some guy here on a"truck enthusiasts " web site.
You know, sell your 6500 pound truck, change your life style , get rid of your RV, buy a Chevy volt , ride bicycles to work more, get solar panels on your house, build your own waist water recycling unit, take less baths, shower less, eat less, and go live alike a Comanche warrior(minus the killing, and squaw stealing because your limp wrested *** couldn't handle that ).
If you aren't doin all of the above your just another hypocrite that wants to bad mouth some guy wanting to rig his ride because, you find noise or diesel exhaust fumes offensive . SELL you desiel truck then and save the planet.
All of You should spend the time you wasted ripping into a guy looking for advice, on some real environmental issues that impact your health if you really care that much.
Might need to change the name of this site from "Ford Truck Enthusiasts" to "guilty hypocrites that hate themselves".
BTW, I would gladly say this to all of your faces , in person, if you we're in front of me now. Most of you whine bags wouldn't do that because you have been told to stand in the corners like a silent little lamb. So, you come on here and hijack a guy looking for a bit of info, because you are all activists with grand opinions on the Internet . What a joke!

Wow

I think a grown man looking for some advice on their vehicle can filter through all the opinions on the benefits / non benefits. Truxdude, looks like you are new with 4 posts under your belt. Some of us WANT opinions, that is why we come here, to get feedback, the good bad and ugly. There are a lot of facts in this thread that are usefull for the OP. You hijacked the thread with your rant about loss of liberties, direct your anger at politicians who have TAKEN a lot our liberty away, if you think the problem is here your dead wrong. I have no mods done other than im getting ready to install a new nav unit, pics to follow. I don't mind the smoking diesels, my 2 boys laugh and think that it is childish when we get smoked out badly, but do love the chrome stacks we see in some trucks. Doing a delete seems to do nothing except to lessen the chances of getting stranded. Some people do deletes and dont like the smoke and put thier pipes back on. Lots of good opines on this subject. Mod away I say, then get your @$$ to the voting booth and get busy getting rid of the people are taking your liberties and your God.

He wasn't looking for an opinion on pros & cons. Some people just decided to give it, like their opinion actually counts. That's the problem with some folks, they get themselves involved in things that they weren't invited into and have no business being in.

It was a tech question, and he asked for suggestions with respect to completing the mods, not a high and mighty assessment of the impacts on society or a good talking to about warranties and financial responsibility.

I am at the voting booth every time it's open and I drag as many like minded folks with me as I can get my hands on. I am not angry. I just think that it is asinine to start debating on the merits of doing something like modding a guys truck when he asks a tech questions and seeks tech advice.
It is lofty at best on the part of those individuals and overbearing at worst. More than that, I found it to be a complete turn off with respect to this site/forum.
If I were to ask a tech question like that I would hope someone would take it serious and not use it as an opportunity to give their opinion on the merits of my action, warranties, and environmental/health impacts.
The problem with your attitude is that what people say doesn't matter because it is on an Internet forum so the poster should expect to put up with that.
I went off on those individuals because they opened the door for that with THEIR posts and debate.
Furthermore, the reasons "politicians have taken our liberty" is because ignorant people have allowed it to happen. Hence I am not dead wrong. At some point you have to start looking at the idiots that keep voting for the same politicians and cheer loudly as those politician take their liberty.
I fly my faith and my opinions about the role of citizens and government visibly and proudly. I also would never have went down the road these folks did even if I didn't completely agree with what he was doing. It just isn't the place for it.
I guess that we should expect ignorant ---holes to opine on matters that they have not been asked to though because its the Internet .
THAT attitude is why I made the comments about this site. I am a member of numerous other sites and boards where those boundaries would be respected. I was somewhat shocked by the lack of respect for the OP.
