I just got my SCT and decided to load the included tunes until I buy Matt's tunes. The performance tune is nice so far....anyway. I was able to turn off the EGR function (to accomodate my delete) and finally got rid of the P0401 insuff egr flow..... but I keep getting this nagging MAP sensor P0069 code. I replaced the MAP sensor a few years ago for the same reason and it seemed to help.
I have my Quadzilla (standalone gauge) taking the boost reading from the MAP sensor wiring as the instructions directed. Do you guys think the MAP sensor is bad AGAIN or something else might be going on with the tapping of the harness to get a boost reading. I will check the vacuum line tomorrow but I know it is in good shape...any ideas?
It could be a bad MAP or Baro sensor. You need to get something to read both (they should match KOEO). It could also be a circuit integrity problem according to the code: 2005 Update Page 07 Diagnostic Codes P0046 thru P0275
FWIW--that's one of those funky codes that can be caused by several things. Cheezit or MChan might have a simple cure.
I think I would remove the tapped wires and reconnect the originals, verifying that they are not broken in any way. Then see if you continue to get the codes.
I've never heard of a gauge tapping into existing wires. It sure seems like a good way to interfere with the existing sensor.
I agree with both of you......I am thinking about ditching the boost feature and going for a mechanical gauge....never really liked the way it worked and the way I spliced into the wiring to obtain the reading. I will disconnect it soon.
If Mchan or cheezit want to chime in.....please feel free.
