I was browing ebay and saw a 300 engine for sale. What caught my eye was what looked like a Clifford v. cover on it. If someone is looking for one of these, they might want to contact the owner and see if he will sell it seperately.
Of course that v.c. makes me wonder what the rest of the engine has in it. It might be a p&p head, cam, etc.
If it only goes for a hundred bucks you wouldn't need to haggle separately for the valve cover LOL. Funny it says it was run on propane but it comes with an EFI lower intake.

I was curious about the propane bit too. Too bad it isn't closer, I'd probably take the whole thing if it was.
AB--you should talk to the guy. Amtrac is only a few miles from him. I know that for fact. And like I said, he is just a few miles from Clifford Performance, so I'd bet there are some mods done to that engine.
The guy says he bought the engine in a lot with a bunch of other stuff, and knows nothing about the engine. He is unwilling to sell just the v.cover, unless the engine doesn't sell.
I almost bought the entire engine. I checked ebay today when there was 1hr 40 mins left, and the bid was still $100. The v. cover alone was worth more than that. Since it was 40 miles away, I almost bought it, but I already have a spare 300 sitting in my garage, minus the head. Still, I hated to see it go. I kind of wanted to open it up, hoping to find forged rods and crank and pistons, and a nicely ported head....
I just couldn't make that last 'confirm purchase' click.
The v.cover was probably cracked anyway! That's what I'll tell myself.

I'll let you know after I pick it up .
I've been wanting to pick up a project motor to build up and this one was close enough and at the right price.

I'm glad to see a FTE guy bought it. You'll have to let me know what you find. Just seeing the Clifford v. cover made me suspect mods were done, so I hope you find a real nice engine. Hope you got a good final price.
