[SIZE=4]If you want that beloved cam sound, the slight loping, then you should either use the Isky 262, or the Clifford 264. Melling and Crane also make cams for the 300, but I am not familiar with them.
The comp 260 is quite a cam, with ten more degrees duration @.050" than the Isky 256, and six more than the Clifford 264. Although the Cliff. valve lift is quite a bit more.
It seems that with the the 260 you get the best of both worlds: great performance/duration, with a smooth idle and good street manners.
I should also say that installing a cam means a whole series of new parts, not just the cam. To be safe and for the engine to have a long life IMO you should use the cam kit offered with whatever cam you use. That usually entails cam, lifters, v.springs, keepers, retainers, and t.gears (all metal). Since the cam manufacturer usually requires a v.spring with more tension than oem, you might want to consider replacing the oem push in rocker studs with stronger screw ins. /SIZE]

Note: Most guys say that you're really limited with what you can do with an efi engine. But then once in a while I'll read someone on here who claims they have an efi with the works, ie p&p, radical cam, etc., and they say it runs great. For what it is worth.

I know the Isky 256 is computer compatible. Other than that I would check each co's site and read up on what they have available.

Do you think a P&P job and a Isky256 would run ok with an EFI engine? I suppose I am putting the cart before the horse since I am needing to finish the 83 and then find something to do with my rebuilt 351w... Don't know if i want to put that windsor back in a old rusty farm truck...

There are a couple of 280 hydraulic cams out there, they should have a nice lope. Probably wouldn't pull worth a darn below 2,000 rpm, but would sound sweet at idle...
