Just wondering if anyone has heard of using a few ounces of Acetone in the fuel?

I think that would be a good way to really screw up your injectors

In my mind the acetone would remove/dissolve any kind of lubrication properties that the fuel might have causing problems with the injector intensifier piston. Remember, this isn't a gas burner and doesn't burn fuel the same way. Octane and cetane do opposite things in the burn cycle.

I add cetane to my fuel, and I'd like to speak to this guy about the acetone.

If you own a V10, ok, even then it's questionable.

The only additive that belongs in the tank of the 6.0 is:

Stanadyne
Diesel Kleen or any other well known diesel fuel additive.

Boy I can see pre combustion issues in his future.
#1 diesel flash point 100deg F
acetone 0 deg.F
gasoline -45 deg.F
All values for an atomised spray. values from engineerstoolbox.com
To be honest they just don't look right to me. I always thought acetone was more volital than that.
