2-3 turns?!!! Yikes! Can the pump even take that without shearing the shaft or breaking the screw? I have a turbo and turned it 2/3rds of a turn and can hit 1300 egts loaded but its NOT a hobby of mine. On an NA motor I'd think 1/6th turn on 1flat would be all you could go before smoking like the Springfield Tire Fire! Doh!

On mine at 2flats i could hit 1000 empty and with the empty 28' gooseneck that wieghs 6000lbs i snuggle the smoke switch into the rug and it hits 1100 and stays there even on the steepest hills.

I think the uhaul pumps came already turned up a flat. When I turned up my new pump I could hit 1100* in ten seconds empty - so i ended up having to turn it back down and it runs normal now, I hit around 750 empty.
