Id like to see this post removed or the OP correct it. Someone else reading it might be convinced that this is fact when it is the complete opposite. More fuel, more heat. Turboing it adds air and a lot of it to cool it down, it wont make it run hotter. NEVER make recommendations on what "works for a couple friends." There will not be anyone else on this forum that will back your story. Not trying to be a dick but i dont want to see someone get screwed by reading that post.

Ok whatever dude thats y one of guys am talking bout is ase certified in diesel engines. Before u open ur mouth make sure u no wat ur talking bout. 1 Turbos push more air in as that happens the air compresses n heats up the air. 2 more air means more fuel can be burned which gives u alot more heat. Im talking bout NON TURBO idi engines, u can put all the fuel u want in that motor but its only going to burn a certain percent of the fuel because i dont have enoth air to burn the rest of the fuel which makes black smoke. Im not saying it dont raise ur egt's, it does, but not enoth to burn a hole in a piston. If u have some photos of this or some kind of proof that a non turbo idi burnt a hole in the piston from to much fuel id like to see it

Going far and beyond and risking internal combustion damage just to see a little black smoke? Sell your precious idi.

N wreckinball i didnt recommend u turn ur ip up 2-3 turns i only recommended that u turn it up a little bit to make ur truck start easyier. So dont be telling me not to recommend anything. I dont think anyone should turn their ip up that much its stupid cuz all engines r different even if their same. I was only using my friends as a example.

it was a bad example, but thanks for admitting you were wrong. That means a lot and thanks. Dont get bent off what i say, in the end you are right, its your truck. If you want to test the limits, feel free but to not use a pyro when turning the fuel up is going to leave you like the image above and pissed off. the way you mentioned the 2-3 turns was as if its cool because everyone you know is doing it. Not a good example. Know what i mean, just re read it and take a third person perspective.

could be or he doesnt understand diesel turbos, most of us can outsmart a trained ford tech when it comes to our engines. Believe me it isnt hard, they specialize on newer vehicles and these havent been in existence since 1994 so anyone still working on them is either a general diesel mech used to new diesels, or a dinosaur of the company on his way out. there is only one certified 7.3 technician here in the island and he is a whiz but still misses some stuff since his business is mostly powerstrokes. go figure huh?

Dude, you obviously didn't read the whole thing. I has the comparison of the egts of n/a versus turbo at the bottom.

the link is a bit off of what you want snapon, he has to click on "proof" under the picture of the turbo system. that will take him to the comparisons of N/A over turbo.
