Hey Rotary, do you have any good pictures of that 80 flareside? Done anything to it?
As for Good pictures, hahaha, I need to actually go out and take some.
Here is a build thread i have going over in the 80-86 forum.I've made it dual tank right now, if i can find a mechanical 6 port selector valve [might have found one ] it'll be great. Changing the Brakes next weekend.
oh i forgot to add, the previous owner changed out the engine to a 351w from a 95 Bronco. It's hooked up to an np435. Hoping to get some longtube headers within the next month or so. depends on how much in tax returns and moving gets me haha
I was actually just reading up on the power potential of the 351w on a budget. If I wasn't already elbow deep in my 300, I would think more seriously about a swap.

so far, im liking the 351w. i have an msd ignition and distributor, and a computer from a mustang, not sure what year or model, something the po did i really haven't looked into when he swapped the engines. it has power, and gives a good seat of the pants feel with what its got now. with the np435, it doesnt do too bad for gas surprisingly, at 55, i'm getting maybe 15mpg in 4th. i have plans on diesel swapping it by the end of the year so when that time comes around, i could sell it to ya for cheap haha
whichever i find that comes with a 5 speed and tcase. looking for either a 6.9/7.3 or a 6bt. just gotta find a donor truck. i mean, how many 4wd diesel flaresides do you see running around? hahah
Not many, that's for sure. Would make for a pretty sweet rig. Probably going to need some serious structural help in the front end I would guess. I would think that the 6.9 would be an easier swap being that was the engine available in the 250/350. I wonder how much fab work would be needed.
i'd really like to find an old 1st gen 5.9 cummins, all mechanical so all that i gotta run wiring for is the ignition :P. i mean, wouldn't be too hard beefing up the frame, the truck will have a solid axle and leafs up front by then also.
I don't have much to report but. Put a superchip scanner on my truck, it's no custom tunes but it is pretty good for a work truck. Hoping to have get a ranger and then next few weeks after taxes come back, then I will clean it up put some window tint, a headache rack, toolbox, an air intake and possibly more.
I drove the Beast for about 10 miles today, first time on this motor. A few minor things to look at when weather clears up (or when I get more Whiskey to keep me warm), but went well and I'm excited. I was data logging MAF volts with AFR so I can work on the tune.
