Hey 72, I definitely am curious to see some pictures of the carb set-up you've got going on there.

What kind of an upgrade is that bump stick gonna give ya? I've been looking at some for my truck. I've been looking at some of the comp cams packages, and Clifford cam packages.

I started with a seasoned 351W block, went 030 over, used stock crank and piston rods. New heads (205cc, 2.02" intake valves), new torque converter, new pistons, custom cam. Converted from SD to MASS Air. And it's supercharged. Shooting for 500HP

So far everything has been going really well. The crank end play is perfectly within its limits and so is the cam end play. All the pistons are in but one because when I was putting the sleeve on piston #3 to put it in, I broke the second piston ring so I need to try and find a new one.

The timing is set and the crank turns very smooth. I put the heads on one side and will set the rockers today. I should be able to complete one side today.

Very nice! I've been looking at cam kits myself.

That chassis looks brand spanking new. Nice work

can you fill me in on the "'electronic' electric-choke control module"?

love to see more pics of the interior too!

Lightbulb Electric choke brain

Muscletruck7379:

The little electronic choke "brain" looks like a black box about an inch cubed. It has one big thick copper lug used to bolt it to manifold. (replaces a washer) There are three wires; two that energize the electric choke housing, included, and one as the input power lead. Got it from NAPA, and it solved every issue for about $80.

The choke housing works just like the original electric one.

I will edit with the P/N when I run across it. _______________

Main advantage is that it senses the intake manifold temperature, and is 'smart' enough to deal with restarts, hot starts, and rediculously low temperatures. I put it on my truck for three other reasons; the heat-stove plumbing was shot, the manifold heat-well was corroded, and I needed an idiot-resistant start-up device.

If you ever meet me, you'll understand the last part better...
