The timing is set and the crank turns very smooth. I put the heads on one side and will set the rockers today. I should be able to complete one side today.

Electric choke brain

The little electronic choke "brain" looks like a black box about an inch cubed. It has one big thick copper lug used to bolt it to manifold. (replaces a washer) There are three wires; two that energize the electric choke housing, included, and one as the input power lead. Got it from NAPA, and it solved every issue for about $80.
The choke housing works just like the original electric one.

Main advantage is that it senses the intake manifold temperature, and is 'smart' enough to deal with restarts, hot starts, and rediculously low temperatures. I put it on my truck for three other reasons; the heat-stove plumbing was shot, the manifold heat-well was corroded, and I needed an idiot-resistant start-up device.
