Alright once again my truck is still sittin. But Iv gotten it out for "test drives" and installed some 37" Military OZs. Now the new problem is the c6 is takin a dump. I guess this last year of sittin did it in. Found a zf5 and hope its the bb not the diesel, so I can run it till my Cummins swap. With my wifes new job things will start rollin again!
By the way guys its all lookin SWEET, keep it up
Didn't do so well on the dyno. Base started at 105 hp & 170 torque. He ran the motor all day, enough to tune then something happened to the motor. So I gotta pull it but shouldn't be too bad. I'll do the next round of tweaks and upgrades and be good to go.
I agree. I don't like them either. But I already got a list going and it's going to be EVERYTHING:
Siemens injectors - Deca 80s or 60s
Gap plugs to 0.040" for more boost
Get different cam to balance hp and torque
Fix PS pump
Install hpx sensor
install blower
Get PCM rebuilt
Wide band O2 sensor that also works with PCM
So here's my project in action!
It's pretty much a bone stock 84 Capri 302, with a tuned Holly 700 Dbl-pump on it.
Upgraded exhaust manifolds to an H-pipe (open exhaust.)
This was the last run for this 302 as the 347 is getting dropped in come spring time!
Best pass ever was - 15.3 down in Tucson (with the old carb.)
I actually matched that here at Bandimere with the new Carb. So I can only imagine what it would have run down there!
This pass was 15.7, with a .083 reaction racing my buddy's 2012 6.2 Raptor (Stock).
Crossed the scale at the end with less than a 1/4 tank of fuel @ 3200lbs.
Just thought I'd post this - because I'm jones'n to put the new motor in! https://plus.google.com/photos/insta...70265369488018
So I had gottin the ole girl runnin and was drivin her to work. A friend of a friend had an 01 crewcab 7.3 that he let me have for a straight swap for my 85. This newer superduty aint like my old truck at all, besides havin an ideal drivetrain I dont much care for the superduty bodystyle. My plan is to keep the SD till I can find another truck just like my old one and swap axles trans and drop in a DT360.
Thanks jthorn. Its not a bad truck at all, I think $500 and shed be clean enough for bout 10k on a trade in. I need to hold onto it for a bit though so im goin to start shinin her up
Look'n good man.
I just found out that one of my wife's customers has a shop either in CastleRock or the Springs that has a dyno being put in. I may be bringing the Merc down for it's first official dyno test on it before I drop in the new 347 in a couple weeks.
I'll let you know so you can swing by.
