Check Engine Light is being turned on by something when I tow my 5th. There is NO code. It just comes on and sometimes I have to reset it and sometime it goes off by itself. The first 4 times it came on it had a code. The last 4 times there is no code. Have a BD cool down timer and a BD monitor for boost, trany and the exhaust. Live in CA so I need help to figure out this electronic nightmare.
SRY about that. Here is all I have at this time. Not using a BullyDog. 2004 F350 Super Duty Crew Cab Long Wheel Base 6.0 Diesel. Made in June of 2004. Only repair was to pull engine and reseal pillow block. Before I got it, it was what they call a Lemon that had to have all F/I replaced and some sensors. Once that was fixed there has been no other problems other than the normal recurring one that has been fixed for good. Has 45,000 miles on it. First code read by Ford. Rest has been read by my code reader. Turbo three times and EGR last time. Truck has no problems. All system, that I no of, operate as they should. Truck runs like a scarred rabbit if U push it. Code reader make I will have to get later. Only happens when I pull my 5th wheel.
Just something that occured to me trying to get my CEL codes.
My sct tuner would always tell me no codes no codes over and over again, well I usually leave my cheap autozone scanner at work for when I work on their trucks.
Well I brought it home scanned my truck, I had 12 codes.
One thing I forgot to mention. When I cleared the first 3 codes it took a little while for the computer, I guess to check things out, before engine light went off. These last times the light went off as soon as reset was done. The latest check engine light that went on turned itself off after about 50 miles. huh
