code lookup request please
I have the Bully Dog downloader and I love it. I've put almost 5k mile on the truck since I installed it and the only tiny problem I had is that when I go on a long trip (300+ miles of continuous driving) the engine light comes on. So I check the code and erase it and it stays off until I've driven about another 300 or so miles and it will come back on. It has never done it while driving around town even if I drive through 3 tanks it doesn't happen in city driving. Here are the codes
P0401 EGR Flow Insuficient Detected
U1220 ????
U2229 ????
the code definitions that BD gives doesn't have any codes that start with U. So I emailed BD today asking about the U codes and they are not fimiliar with them--I thought they might be BD specific but they are not. It just gets real anoying when the truck is throwing codes. It doesn't seem that there is a problem, ie no loss of perfomance, mpg , etc.. I'm going to be putting about 5k miles on the truck the first two weeks af April and was hoping to get this figured out befor then. Oh and no I have not driven on a long trip with it in stock mode or with the truck returned to stock--I don't want to give up the mpg
and if I return the truck to stock and take it to the dealer there is no point because the code will be gone and I don't want to drive 300+ miles just to set off the codes. not to mention that the truck probably wouldn't throw codes without the BD.....since it never did beforeOk, so are there any of you guys that are techs or have access to Fords list of codes. All of your help and input is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

correction, the code definitions I have from BD only go to P1918....that is the highest number and the only letter is P--which I figured was for powertrain.

scroll all the way to the bottom. Also make sure your contact is good where the chip mounts, screwy things can happen if they work lose and not make complete and clean contact.
I like those codes a lot better than using a P infront of the other code P1220 say "series thottle control malfunction" that sounds bad.....
U1220 says "missing or invalad data from extreior lamp"
thanks, I'll save that list for future reference.
